Operation Sunset is framed in June of 2013, six months after the largest solar event in Man's recorded history. The resulting X-class coronal mass ejection destroyed everything with circuits or wire. Power lines caught fire, generators and motors sparked, and hospitals, factories and schools burned until no fuel was left. The only electronics that survived were those small items protected by Faraday cages, or the odd piece of nuke-proof military equipment lucky enough to be unplugged when the CME hit.

Got a little technical skill? Wondering what to do with that old JG M4 sitting around the house? There's a project for that....
Velcro. One of man's most amazing inventions only second to Duct Tape. For those of us who have multiple camo patterns and need to swap team patches and name tapes, it's a convenient way to do so without a lot of hassle. Here's a suggestion on a great place to purchase your Velcro for a decent price. Those of us at SOG usually carry around a map of our 130+ acre field even though we play there every weekend. It's a great way to orient walk-ons and cadets when setting up a strategy for an objective or op. As useful as they are though, it's hard to keep one that doesn't eventually fall apart, even if they are laminated. I found this article on Instructables that show how to create a lightweight, waterproof map. I haven't tried it yet, but thought I'd share with the rest of the airsoft community. One of our Cadets, Zach "Monkey" Hanson, pulled together this fantastic video for the Airsoft GI video contest. We liked it so much that we put it on the front page for everyone to see. Thanks again Monkey for putting in the extra effort to make us look good. Feel free to contact Monkey for your next project. YOU GOTTA WATCH THIS IN HD (720p or 1080p)!!
If you like the video, please give it a "Like" on YouTube and vote for it on the Airsoft GI Facebook page. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, if you're interested in finding out more about SOG Airsoft, register here and we'll get you started. As the video says, we play year and are here every week. If you have any questions, post a message on our forums (need to register) and you can tap into many years of combined airsoft experience. |
